    Job Description
    CAD TECHNICIAN
    JMJ Group is currently seeking to hire a talented CAD Technician to draft site layouts and generate construction plans for a variety of land development, transportation, and water resource projects in our Thomasville, GA office. This position will support the design of water distribution, wastewater collection, stormwater management, and transportation facilities for the development of residential, commercial, and industrial facilities in Florida and Georgia for our clients. As a design team member, you will be responsible for meeting with engineers or architects and drafting construction plans using CAD software. You may be required to work as part of a team or individually on a project. To ensure success as a CAD Technician, you should have working experience with CAD software, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work as part of a team. A top-class CAD Technician is a technical wizard, creating exact computer models of site designs according to the client’s specifications.

    CAD Technician Responsibilities
    • Perform basic project research and data collection
    • Meeting with Engineers, Draftsmen, and Designers to review blueprints and design drawings.
    • Inputting design specifications into AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
    • Drafting site layouts from sketches and written criteria
    • Creating pipe networks, alignments, and surface models according to design criteria.
    • Working with a design team and individually on CAD projects.
    • Drafting and issuing construction plan sets
    • Reviewing regulatory comments and adjusting plans
    • Completing job reports.

    CAD Technician Requirements
    • Associate degree in Drafting, CAD Certification, or previous experience as a CAD Technician.
    • Knowledge of CAD and AutoCAD software.
    ​• Ability to read and translate blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Basic understanding of site construction and materials.
    • Ability to work as part of a team and individually on projects.
    • A keen eye for detail.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, OneNote and Teams)


    Additional Information 
    Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background screening which may include, but is not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, driving record check, criminal background check, and an investigative consumer report. These screenings will be conducted by JMJ Group’s background vendor of choice and will be conducted in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local law.
