The Women's Forum of Thomasville-Thomas County is a sub-committee of the Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce. It is a diverse group of women dedicated to and focused on the personal and professional advancement of women. The group also focuses on community service including providing college scholarships to female high school seniors.
The Women’s Forum Scholarship was developed to recognize excellence among local female seniors in academics, leadership, and service. Additionally, the scholarships are intended to provide financial support to motivated students who demonstrate a commitment to post-secondary education.
Scholarship applications are available through the high school guidance offices of Thomasville High School, Thomas County Central High School, Brookwood School, and Bishop Hall Charter School. Thomasville/Thomas County homeschool female seniors are also encouraged to apply for the scholarship. One young lady from each of these schools can be selected annually to receive a scholarship.
Scholarship recipients are recognized each year at the May meeting of the Women’s Forum. Tuesday, May 15th, two young women and their parents were invited to lunch with the Women’s Forum. They were recognized as this year’s scholarship recipients and each young lady received a check for $1000 to help with college expenses.
